Brunswick Song...Bud Preston...and YOU

Why not have a song written about Brunswick?  That is the question that was raised by Barbara McGreer, a Brunswick resident, Trustee with the Medina County Arts Council and Trustee with Brunswick Art Works. Why not indeed?

Thanks to Barb's suggestion, in the fall of 2010, BAW contacted Medina County resident and well-known artist, Bud Preston and contracted with  him to create the music for a Brunswick Song.  When Brunswick City Council recently adopted the song officially as the City's song, Bud Preston was there and played the song, and was presented with a certificate by Brunswick Mayor, Gary Werner. 

Now comes YOUR part.  Brunswick Art Works will soon be announcing contest rules for a contest to write lyrics for the music just adopted.  We will have current information posted on this blog, and that information, along with the music, will also be available on the City's website (http://www.brunswick.oh.us/) for anyone interested in entering the contest or just listening to the music.
